The most common tournament-day mistake is not a technique gap. It is arriving underprepared, forgetting something basic or showing up in the wrong gear. This checklist fixes that.

The night before - lay it all out
Do not pack on competition morning. The night before, lay every item on a flat surface, check against this list and pack completely. Wake up, eat, go.

- IBJJF-legal rashguard in your belt colour - the Senshi Collection covers every belt rank

What happens if my rashguard fails gear inspection?
You will not be allowed to compete in that division. Some tournaments have spare gear available to borrow; most do not. Pack a backup rashguard in the correct colour and you will never face this situation.
Should I warm up in my competition rashguard or a spare?
Warm up in your competition rashguard so you know how it feels during movement. Have a fresh one in your bag if you are competing in multiple divisions and need a dry one later.
How early should I arrive at a tournament?
At least 60-90 minutes before your division starts. You need time for weigh-in, admin, warm-up and nerves. Athletes who arrive 20 minutes before their match rarely compete at their best.
